*The Japanese pharmaceutical company EISAI has contracted with the Swedish pharmaceutical company BIOARCTIC NEUROSCIENCE to develop immunotherapy for Alzheimer’s disease.

AAJ chapters all over Japan are acting to propagate the policy for long term care insurance of AAJ. Members are visiting mayors, governors, and various organizations and explaining the policy face to face.

Public subsidies for the facilities have been decreasing in the process of privatization. Almost all private facilities have financial problems. The average bonus of care workers is 80% of public officials’.

*Officers in charge of social welfare should have practical experience in the field in such areas as incontinence care and should know the actual situation of care workers. If their working conditions never improve, there will be no care workers in Japan. (59-year-old woman)
